- Less than three months after CMO Pam El was put in charge, the association has decided to put it's creative business up for review.
- Omnicom's Goodby Silverstein & Partners has worked with the NBA for more than 20 years and has been its official agency of record since 2007.
- The NBA season kicks off October 28, and will be reaching out to agencies before then. Goodby is still expected to create the season opener spot.

It's not clear if the review means the NBA is ready to move on completely or just solicit work on project basis. The association as a whole isn't the alone in wanting to revamp its marketing tactics. After the PR fiasco that ousted Los Angeles Clippers owner Donald Sterling, the team also began to look for new creative, and has since landed with RPA.
