Dive Brief:
- In a blog post Tuesday, Twitter announced the launch of TweetDeck Teams.
- 'Teams' will allows groups to contribute to a Twitter account without sharing passwords.
- Members in each team will have the ability to send and schedule tweets, build lists, and follow/unfollow accounts. It is meant to eliminate the need of every member of a social marketing team to have access to a password, and to streamline the process of posting tweets.
Dive Insight:
Marketing teams should rejoice in hearing the news, particularly organizations that are trying to pull employees into the fold as advocates. Not sharing passwords means team members can be added and removed without having to go through the pain of changing passwords each time. Other Twitter third party platforms like HootSuite and SocialFlow have already embraced the team login, so it was about time Twitter followed suit.
