Experiences For Mankind (EFM), a San Diego-based advertising agency, announced the appointment of a new leadership team, a relocation of their corporate headquarters and a restructure effort to create an employee-first culture and better align with client demand. Driven by growth and a new agency mindset, EFM is transitioning Javier Iniguez to majority partner and appointing Morgan Graham as a minority partner, doubling its office space and is refining its service structure for optimal customer experience.
Founded in 1997 as a web-centric design agency, the company has evolved over the years to deliver a full range of solutions including creative and brand campaigns, UX and UI design, customer journey design, retail marketing strategy, in-store experiences, and more. As part of this evolution, it also developed a relationship-based approach to its services that has helped expand its client roster into diverse industries, working with brands such as Microsoft, Mirage Hotel and Casino, Sony, Ballast Point, Siemens, Lytx, and Cobalt Robotics, among others. This customer-centric focus most recently resulted in 30 percent revenue growth year-over-year for 2019.
As part of the new structure, Javier Iniguez will take on the role of CEO, and Morgan Graham will take on the role of CXO. Through this creative and customer experience-focused leadership team at the helm, the agency is bringing a new mindset to the traditional advertising agency model. This includes a major focus on employees and building out its customer engagement strategies, helping brands interact with consumers in any customer journey environment.
“Our industry is notorious for long hours, conflicting deadlines and burnout,” said Javier Iniguez. “And, while we are focused on creating meaningful and connected experiences for our customers, we are also committed to providing a best-in-class work environment for our employees. We’re confident that this shift to creating an employee-first workplace culture will serve as a major advantage for us in the market as we continue to improve our service offering and provide exceptional customer service.”
Iniguez joined EFM in 2003 as a senior art director. Most recently, he has served as President and Chief Creative Officer overseeing strategy and creative for clients including Siemens, GE, Kaiser Permanente, The Seany Foundation, and continually nurturing his team’s professional development.
As CEO, Iniguez places priority on achieving healthy company growth while providing an employee-centric workplace environment. For instance, the agency now offers access to life coaches, conducts regular self-development sessions, and creates a culture that prevents work hours from going into overtime and into weekends.
Graham has spent 11 years at EFM, developing her client-centric skillsets to become CXO. In her new role, she will advocate for the clients’ success and continuously improve that experience – for both the clients and the clients’ customers.
“Our mission is to provide our clients with meaningful creative services, while ensuring we are a trusted partner and a strategic extension of their team,” said Morgan Graham. “We have a mentorship, growth-minded approach in our industry and I look forward to bringing a new way of thinking not only to our team but also mentoring others within the local advertising community. Additionally, I’m proud to bring a female, client-centric perspective to advertising agency leadership. Javier and I have carried a similar vision of what agency life should be – and we’re now able to bring it to fruition at EFM.”
In addition to putting a new ownership team in place, this August EFM relocated its headquarters to a 4,200 square-foot-space in the heart of San Diego’s vibrant East Village neighborhood. The move was designed to accommodate growth and align with the company’s steadfast vision for the future. In its new creative space, EFM plans to cultivate a creative local community, hosting regular networking events, industry gatherings and educational sessions.
