Dive Insight:
Death Wish Coffee is facing a somewhat unique issue as a small brand about to get a lot of notice. The marketing team is making preparations for the potential onslaught of people checking the brand out after it gets international exposure on the largest advertising stage.
Teah Teriele runs marketing for the coffee brand and told Marketing Dive, "We've tweaked our site to give new customers and onlookers the easiest online experience as possible. Since this is such a unique opportunity, there aren't many resources as to what kind of traffic a little-known brand would see."
Teriele added, “In any case, we have prepared a great deal for a large traffic spike while trying to spread the commercial to the best of our ability. We couldn't be more thankful for the support that we have had."
According to Adweek, the spot was created by RPA, Intuit’s agency. You can view it below. Teriele told Marketing Dive they also plan to live-tweet throughout the game as well as make updates across their social platforms.
