Gartner released its 2015 Magic Quadrant for Web Content Management report featuring 19 companies sorted into four categories: leaders, challengers, visionaries and niche players, although no companies were classified as challengers in the report. Hippo debuted in the niche player quadrant as the only company offering java-based open source technology.
The company recently posted its twelfth-consecutive quarter of growth in North America. According to the Gartner report, Hippo is attractive on a cost basis and has a combination of enterprise-level capabilities and a well-designed Java Content Repository.
Summarizing the report, Gartner stated, “Web content management remains a vibrant and growing market, fueled by the aspirations of digital strategists on the demand side and continuous innovation on the supply side. IT application leaders, marketers, digital experience specialists and merchandisers all now view WCM as mission-critical.”
