Fox to integrate mobile content on AOL?s Winamp

Fox Mobile Distribution has signed agreements with AOL Europe and AOL Canada for the newly-launched Winamp version 5.55, a PC-based media player, to provide mobile ringtones.

Under the agreement, Fox Mobile Distribution ringtone links will be integrated into Winamp media player, enabling its 73 million users worldwide to discover mobile content while using the media player. Winamp will also feature an integrated Jamba- or Jamster-branded purchase page so users can buy the mobile content they discover without leaving the Winamp media player.

"Fox Mobile Distribution's strategy in working with AOL to integrate content on AOL's Winamp is to continue building FMD's partner distribution channels throughout the world," said Giovanni Montesanti, chief marketing officer for Fox Mobile Distribution, Beverly Hills, CA. "Initially, Fox Mobile Distribution will only offer ringtones, but in the future other highly relevant content will be available such as wallpapers and screensavers."

Fox Mobile Distribution will ensure that its links throughout Winamp are contextually integrated so that when consumers click on a link to a particular artist or track they will be offered related ringtones or other highly relevant mobile content.
