American Idol producer picks mobileStorm for email

Fremantle Media, producer of television shows such as "American Idol" and "The Price is Right," has tapped mobileStorm Inc., Los Angeles, as its email service provider for the United States.

FremantleMedia will use mobileStorm's Stun! digital marketing platform to send brand-specific email messages to its database. The Stun! platform is an end-to-end data and email management system, giving FremantleMedia delivery reports, conversion ratios and analytical data.

"With Fremantle's brands, they really needed to streamline their data collection process and be able to capture that data and then report on that demographic and psychographic information," said Jared Reiczin, CEO of mobileStorm. "They wanted to target their database and be able to send messages."

In addition to email, mobileStorm will also offer text messaging at a later date.

"Down the road, we'll possibly be doing some text messaging for them," Mr. Reiczin said.

Meanwhile, fans who sign up for email updates on FremantleMedia shows' official Web sites will receive the mobile messages.

FremantleMedia is a major user of interactive media for its TV programming. The company has used text 2 vote campaigns on "American Idol." MBlox handles the text 2 vote efforts.

MobileStorm handles digital marketing for marketers such as Carl's Jr., Squaw Valley Ski Resort, Horoscope.com, Qantas Airways, Palms Casino and MGM Grand.
