Wisekey, MyScreen partner to deliver secure, personalized ads

Wisekey and MyScreen have partnered to integrate Wisekey electronic identity technologies with MyScreen's mobile advertising technology platform.

This partnership aims to deliver personalized advertisements, offers and transaction capability to mobile phones. MyScreen subscribers can use the MyScreen-WiseKey service to opt-in to receive advertisements, credits, coupons and transaction offers.

"Myscreen offers a patent-pending permission-based mobile marketing platform, which offers subscribers the ability to receive targeted ads and offers from advertisers, in addition to receiving compensation for viewing the ads," said Raghu Kilambi, chief financial officer and director at MyScreen, Toronto, Ontario, Canada.

"Wisekey is a digital security firm, whose integrated platform with MyScreen will allow MyScreen subscribers' profiles to be digitally secure and allow subscribers to securely transact over their mobile phones to purchase products and services," he said.

MyScreen is a Web site where consumers can make money by signing their friends up for the service by entering their mobile phone numbers. The system will then send an SMS message to the subscriber's friends, inviting them to join MyScreen.

Each time a friend signs up, the initial subscriber will receive a message letting them know that another one of their friends has made them money. Once five of her friends have logged on to the service, the subscriber will start earning 1 cent for each paid ad message viewed.

"MyScreen will be able to offer subscribers and telecom partners a digitally secure platform to sign-up and give demographic information to receive targeted ads and to conduct ecommerce," said Mr. Kilambi. "Wisekey will be able to reach millions of mobile subscribers with its unique digital security products."

The Wisekey service operates by using digital identities to enhance access security, communications and enable transactions. The digital certified identities technology aim to reduce identity fraud.

Wisekey is a privately-owned company headquartered in Geneva, Switzerland. The company uses Public Key Infrastructure to provide identity security for its clients. Wisekey uses the standard X.509 system, which is managed by the International Telecommunication Union.

In addition to its online trust model, it has developed technology that can provide identification authentication and encryption products and services that allow various companies and organizations to identify individuals and devices with which they wish to communicate.

Some of Wisekey's former and current clients are DVB Consortium (Multimedia Home Platform Security Standard), ABN AMRO, Secure Video Processor alliance, Government of Seychelles, Ministry of Information and Communications Vietnam (Secure IT Infrastructure), State of Geneva (eVoting), Alinghi, Rolex, IATA, IKEA and ZEK-IKO (Consortium of leading financial institutions).

"The challenges that exist are to persuade telecom operators and subscribers that this combined platform protects sensitive data and transaction information," Mr. Kilambi said. "MyScreen has a major telecom shareholder and partner in Orascom Telecom who have endorsed MyScreen as a mobile advertising platform.

"Wisekey has major banks, governments and private enterprises as its clients," he said. "Both companies are confident that our joint branding can overcome the challenges noted above."
