Ping Mobile partners with Multiplied Media for LBS
Multiplied Media has teamed up with Ping Mobile to deliver targeted campaigns to consumers via a new mobile local search application based on users' keyword search and location.
The Poynt application is GPS-enabled and connects consumers to local businesses, people, restaurants and movie theaters at the moment they want to buy or get products and services. Consumers can also view movie trailers and showtimes, book dining reservations, view directions on a map and click-to-call a business or view a Web site.
?Our focus has always been to offer our clients full service mobile marketing strategies, enabling them to drive immediate revenue and foot traffic [and] build their own exclusive mobile database for targeted re-marketing campaigns,? said Shira Simmonds, president/CEO of Ping Mobile, Englewood Cliffs, NJ.
?What we have is the Holy Grail of mobile marketing ? immediate, impulsive and targeted mobile marketing with a direct link to communicate with customers actively searching for products and services in real time and based on their location,? she said.
?This is truly the ?what they want, when and where they want it? that mobile marketing has been waiting for.?
Multiplied Media develops and operates mobile applications that lets consumers connect with the people and businesses most important to them.
Ping Mobile provides mobile marketing services, including SMS, MMS, IVR, WAP applications and Bluetooth to businesses. Some of its clients include Warner Bros., Ford Motor Co. and KFC.

The application is available for BlackBerry smartphones in the United States, Canada, Germany, Britain, Italy, France and Spain via BlackBerry App World.
Additionally, the service is available for the iPhone and iPod touch.
?The consumer is actively looking for a product or service and our partnership allows us to deliver a targeted and relevant advertisement based on what the consumer is looking for,? Ms. Simmonds said. ?As for the target demographic of advertisers ? QSRs, full-service restaurants, hotels, retailers, leisure activity brands including golfing, spas, hair salons and any location that is looking to generate additional foot traffic,? she said.
?For example, a popular search is pizza and any restaurant can have their advertisement placed at the top of the search results,? she said.
?They can also know what their potential customers are searching for and tailor the message based on the users? keyword search.?

The application also has BlackBerry Maps and Google Maps mobile, with turn-by-turn directions.
BlackBerry users can add movie search results to their calendar by date and showtime ? ticket purchase links are also included.
The company uses augmented reality technology for iPhone 3 GS phones where consumers get a real-time, directional view of nearby businesses, people, retailers and theaters based on search results
?We are very focused on using the Poynt service in conjunction with smart mobile marketing campaigns,? Ms. Simmonds said. ?We continue to educate our customers and focus on every client?s success.
?Through Poynt we have the ability to notify consumers of offers within a five-mile geo-fence,? she said. ?Consumers will be able to build a profile of what offers they would like to receive and only receive them when they are most apt to use them and when they are within a five-mile radius.?
