Alltel upgrades to JuiceCaster 6.0

Alltel Wireless, a wireless carrier soon to be acquired by Verizon Communications, announced the launch of JuiceCaster 6.0 on its network.

Already offered on the Alltel network, JuiceCaster now delivers new features to Alltel customers. The version 6.0 of the social communications service for mobile phone enables users to simultaneously send pictures and videos from their phones to networking sites such as MySpace, Facebook, YouTube and Photobucket.

"JuiceCaster is a social media utility that provides a broad, easy-to-use utility with the right combination of benefits and availability to become a long-term indispensable asset for all consumers," said Nick Desai, CEO of JuiceCaster, Los Angeles.

"JuiceCaster will become the one-stop solution for consumers to share and communicate mobile video and pictures in real-time to their favorite social networks and online destinations," he said. "Consumers can communicate with their various networks without having to be in front of their PC."

The service is accessible on nearly 30 handsets models.

The Alltel news follows AT&T's launch of JuiceCaster. JuiceCaster 6.0 is available for $2.99 to AT&T subscribers with compatible handsets. All AT&T customers have to do to sign up is text JUICE to 386.

JuiceCaster 6.0 includes such features as the ability to post video status updates directly from mobile devices to online social networks such as Facebook and Twitter. Non-members can subscribe to a JuiceCaster member's status updates.

Alltel's JuiceCaster subscribers can also create groups for one-touch, instant video sharing to mobile phones, email and online social networks.

Additionally, JuiceCaster 6.0 offers the ability to post mobile videos as blog entries on sites such as Blogger and Typepad, and enables subscribers to watch and interact with videos right on the device.

JuiceCaster 6.0 is available for $1.99 for a day pass, $3.99 per month or $9.99 for a 90-day unlimited-use pass.

"This service aims to address the challenge of interacting with a number of social networks - siloed environments - in the most efficient manner," Mr. Desai said.

"Every online social portal benefits from integration with JuiceCaster," he said. "JuiceCaster is an enabler that makes posting multimedia content easy, and addresses consumers' impulse needs to communicate on the fly.

"Rather than posting content on any one site, users can publish to a number of sites and effectively control who they share content with, addressing the challenge of multiple social network accounts. Users can also publish content privately to another individual, or create custom groups based on interests."
