Alltel launches holiday campaign for My Circle offering

Alltel is running new stop-motion animated TV ads highlighting its My Circle offering and holiday deals on its handsets.

Alltel is offering customers who purchase any new Alltel handset a free month of two applications -- Alltel Navigation, providing turn-by-turn driving directions directly on the phone, and XM Radio Mobile, delivering unlimited access to 25 of the most popular satellite radio stations available.

"Customers are learning to do more with their mobile devices, resulting in increased data usage," said Amy Lasley, staff manager of product marketing for Alltel, Little Rock, AR. "Alltel wants to give back to our customers during the season with a free gift of holiday-centric applications.

"Customers can navigate their way home for holiday gatherings and listen to holiday hits along the way," she said.

The free month of Alltel Navigation and XM Radio Mobile is available until December 25th.

Alltel Wireless, the number-five U.S. carrier, is bringing back the stop-motion animation characters.

Cosumers were introduced in these characters in Alltel's holiday TV commercials last year.

The sales guys and Chad return in animated form as their rivalry continues.

While Chad encourages everyone to communicate with friends and family this holiday season with "My Circle," the sales guys continue to be naughty in their plot to ruin the festive season.

This season, three spots, entitled "Letters to Santa," "Rocket Van" and "Town Tree," will air for through Dec. 25th on outlets including A&E, Bravo and USA Network.

Each is highlighting Alltel's My Circle calling plan and several of the hottest phones.
The target demographic is consumers ages 18-49.

Alltel is offering the Samsung Delve for $99.99 after mail-in rebate.

This new phone gives customers a customizable touch-screen display, full HTML Web browser and an intuitive interface.

Alltel is also offering the LG Rhythm, a music phone, for $49.99 after mail-in rebate.

With this purchase, customers will also receive up to four free camera phones.

Additionally, customers wanting a text-oriented phone can check out Alltel's LG Scoop, which is $0.99 after a $50 mail-in rebate.

The holiday deals on these handsets are available until Dec. 25 for new and existing upgrading customers who sign a two-year service agreement.

The cards are available in the retail, indirect, call center and online channels at the point of sale.

Alltel Wireless's My Circle feature gives customers unlimited free calling to and from any five, 10 or 20 My Circle numbers on any network.

Alltel Wireless also offers Anytime Plan Changes, which gives customers the flexibility to change their calling plans at any time, without extending their current contract.

Alltel has nearly 14 million wireless customers. For more information about Alltel, please visit.

The carrier says it isn't letting the impending Verizon acquisition affect its day-to-day operations.

"Right now, it is business as usual," said Lucie Pathmann, director of marketing communications for Alltel. "Alltel is committed to providing our current and potential customers the best wireless service possible."
