Cars.com mobile site offers Mother Proof

Mother Proof, an online service that provides women and mothers with new-car reviews, is now accessible through the mobile version of Cars.com.

Consumers can type in http://www.cars.com into any mobile device and read the latest news and car reviews from Mother Proof. The reviews are written by Mother Proof's cadre of mom reviewers.

"It was a natural extension to add Mother Proof to the features offered through the Cars.com mobile site," said Kristin Varela, founder of Mother Proof, Chicago.

"As a mother, I know how much time is spent outside of the home, away from a computer," she said. "We wanted a way to offer moms on the go easy access our latest reviews and stories."

In addition to the Mother Proof content, consumers can access vehicle listings alongside research tools and buying advice from Cars.com.

Mother Proof is also part of the Cars.com family.

Cars.com became available on mobile in the spring of 2007, offering car shoppers on the go access to content and features on the site such as used car values, new and used car listings with photos and car reviews.

The Cars.com mobile site is optimized for any mobile device. It is powered by Crisp Wireless, a mobile content management services company.

"The Mother Proof Web site was developed for today's modern mom with her needs in mind when it comes to car shopping," Ms. Varela said.

Because modern moms are often busy, Mother Proof believes that mobile is a way to reach them. As mobile access to the Internet continues to grow Mother Proof expects that its mobile audience will grow along with it.

"The main challenge now is informing our online audience that we are mobile and also finding a unique mobile audience," Ms. Varela said.
