Beauty Minder app targets women, acts as planner
Outside Ventures LLC has launched the Beauty Minder, billing it as the world?s first and only iPhone application for managing a consumer?s beautiful life.
The application lets consumers organize their contacts and appointments from within Beauty Minder. Other features include Google Maps integration, click-to-call and click-to-email functionality and expense tracking.
?While the worldwide beauty industry is a billion-dollar market, very little attention has been given to how its customers manage their beauty services,? said Sharon Cantwell, founder of Outside Ventures, Park City, UT. ?Sophisticated scheduling systems have been deployed that address salon owner?s needs, but no tool exists to enable their customers to personally manage their key beauty events.
?Beauty Minder is the world?s first and only personal beauty event manager,? she said, ?Beauty Minder enables customers to fully manage and control all of their beauty events, contacts and spending in one beautiful place.?
Beauty Minder was created by Outside Ventures, a privately held company that provides consumers with lifestyle products.
Mobile beauty
Ms. Cantwell said that until Beauty Minder launched, it was very difficult for women to manage a variety of beauty-related appointments.
She said that appointments such as those for getting a hair cut or a manicure are often scheduled to recur at unpredictable frequencies.
?It is very often difficult to remember when your next appointment is, or when to schedule subsequent appointments,? Ms. Cantwell said. ?With Beauty Minder, you?re only one click away from accessing all of your key contacts, past and future appointments, spending and upcoming reminders.?
Ms. Cantwell said that the target demographic for Beauty Minder is women ages 18-45.
Despite current stats that show 44 percent of iPhone users are women, Ms. Cantwell said that applications that target women specifically are limited.
Ms. Cantwell also said that the iPhone stats showing 63 percent of users are affluent with an annual income of more than $60,000 make the application a perfect fit for female iPhone consumers.
Consumers can access complete contact information for their beauty places, including name, address, phone and email.
When a location is selected, consumers can click-to-call, click-to-email or view the location on a map.
Consumers can also add a reminder when they make the appointment so the application can help keep them on schedule.
In the application, consumers can maintain and track their beauty spend by month or by year.
The application does not include any advertising and can be purchased for $3.99.
Ms. Cantwell said that going mobile with these service just made sense.
?IPhone users typically see their iPhone as a seamless extension for managing both leisure and business activities, so creating an interface to enable them to manage beauty appointments on the go was the ideal solution,? Ms. Cantwell said. ?Additionally, most mobile users prefer to maintain their private appointments without having to worry about it becoming visible to their corporate IT infrastructure.
?Beauty Minder ensures that your appointments are yours and yours alone,? she said.
