Alltel launches SalesNow tool for BlackBerry
Alltel Wireless is targeting executives on the go with the launch of new business management software for BlackBerry users.
The SalesNow tool uses the functionality of the BlackBerry to let customers manage their sales data on a handset. It enables mobile professionals to extend critical business processes to their mobile devices, said Scott Morris, a company spokesman at Alltel Wireless.
“There are many benefits of SalesNow for individual consumers, from tracking sales and prospecting activity to managing contact information on their BlackBerry and having that data automatically synced to the online-hosted SalesNow application,” Mr. Morris said from Little Rock, AR.
The SalesNow application works both on the BlackBerry device and on the Web. It enables users to track and manage their contacts, deals, activities and emails, as well as access and share information with their entire sales team.
Using the service, a sales team can get up-to-date information on sales activity, view and print weekly activity reports, collaborate on team forecasts, track sale details and plan next steps on business deals.
SalesNow also lets users update graphical reports and dashboards.
To use the application on the Web, users access a secure SalesNow account. Changes the user makes within SalesNow on the BlackBerry are automatically synced to SalesNow on the Web and vice versa.
“SalesNow will be a very strategic application for our customers that want to better manage their individual sales activities as well as the activities of sales teams for our enterprise customers,” Mr. Morris said.
The software is available for $25 a month for individual users or $40 per month for enterprise users with the qualifying smart-choice data plan on all Alltel Wireless BlackBerry smartphones.
Alltel is increasingly turning its attention to the mobile needs of business consumers. The company recently launched TimecardGPS, an application that lets users track employee locations, record shift time and capture job or work order information.
“Businesses are constantly looking for ways to increase their sales teams’ productivity as well as a better way for management to have visibility to those sales activities and pipeline opportunities,” Mr. Morris said. “We feel mobile solutions are definitely a way to meet this need.”
