Madonna updates fans on new album, tour via iPad app

Pop icon Madonna has rolled out an iPad application that lets fans get up-to-date information on her new album and upcoming tour.

The iPad app is powered by Mobile Roadie. The company has worked with other artists including Taylor Swift, Katy Perry, Adele and Drake.

?Madonna is one of the world's great artists, and she's had an incredible career,? said Michael Schneider, CEO of Mobile Roadie, Beverly Hills, CA.

?While we're very proud of her iPhone app, the larger screen on the iPad allowed us to flex our design muscles and illustrate her career in a more immersive experience,? he said.

Music engagement
Through the iPad app, Madonna fans can follow her as she tours around the world, from Europe to South America to North America where she will end her tour.

The Madonna iPad app lets users browse through new photos in the gallery.

Additionally, fans can access videos and stream some of the pop singer?s most popular music videos.

Users can also listen to music from Madonna?s albums and directly buy them through the in-app feature.

The Madonna app also features a Fan Wall where fans all over the world can share their experiences by posting comments, pictures, stories and compete to be the top user.

Fans can check out the singer's albums

?Madonna's fans have been chomping at the bit for her new album, MDNA,? Mr. Schneider said.

?The iPad app was promoted on her Web site, on Twitter, on Facebook and by sending out a push notification to her hundreds of thousands of fans that have already downloaded her iPhone and Android app,? he said.

Overall fun
The iPad app is a great way for Madonna to reach her fans on mobile.

In addition to rolling out the new iPad app, the singer also has a presence on iPhone and Android devices.

Consumers are always on the go and constantly have their handsets with them, so the ability let them stay up-to-date on their favorite artists is a smart move.

?By leveraging the power of mobile and our platform, artists have the opportunity to spread their message far and wide, while making all of their content social and giving their fans a place to come together,? Mr. Schneider said.

?We are seeing north of an 85 percent opt-in rate on push notifications, this is much higher than any artist Web site typically gets for a opt-in rate on collecting email addresses.?
