Mobile Messenger signs distribution deal with EMI Music
Mobile Messenger, a global provider of technology services for mobile content management and distribution, and EMI Music have signed a distribution agreement.
Mobile Messenger will distribute content from EMI Music's digital catalog of well-known recording artists. The offerings will include ring-tones available for purchase by consumers individually on a song-by-song basis or as part of a subscription-based service package.
"Mobile Messenger is a business-to-business provider powering over 100 direct-to-consumer clients with music content and much more," said Steve Taylor, founder/CEO of Mobile Messenger, Santa Monica, CA. "Mobile Messengers' clients offer mobile entertainment content subscription services, which deliver premium content like EMI Real Tones to consumer handsets."
The device-centric content includes video clips, Realtones, polyphonics, graphics and SMS alerts with content such as horoscopes.
"The partnership will help to strengthen Mobile Messenger's position as the leading mobile content delivery provider and distribute EMI's popular digital catalogue to an even broader consumer base," Mr. Taylor said. "We expect this to be a long standing and successful relationship."
The EMI Music catalog includes the biggest names in entertainment past and present, including venerable legends like Miles Davis, Al Green, Dean Martin, Frank Sinatra and Brian Wilson.
Current recording artists on EMI include Coldplay, Lenny Kravitz, Katy Perry, Norah Jones, Joss Stone and Thalia.
Mobile Messenger specializes in providing services such as consulting, marketing, customer support, premium SMS billing and reporting to clients wishing to monetize their brands by selling digital content and services.
The company's clients consist of Web site owners, brands, content providers and marketers.
Mobile Messenger's target demographic is consumers ages 18 -- 25.
Services are only offered to consumers who are eighteen years of age or older, or that have the permission of their parent or guardian.

The company delivers to all handsets and works in the U.S. with Sprint, Alltel, AT&T, Verizon and Virgin Mobile USA.
Its plans to expand capabilities and geographical reach over the next calendar year are underway.
EMI Music is the recorded music division of EMI Group Limited, one of the world's largest music companies.
With EMI Music as a content-partner, Mobile Messenger hopes to expand the breadth and scope of its product portfolio.
Mobile Messenger's client base currently consists of a large group of direct marketers.
"In addition to the vast suite of products, services and campaigns that Mobile Messenger offers its clients, the EMI catalogue will be great added value to market to the end consumer," Mr. Taylor said.
"Consumers may opt-in to mobile subscription services from either clicking on a Web site or by sending a SMS to opt-in to an advertisement shown on television, the Internet or in print," he said.
