PR Newswire offers mobile video

PR Newswire's multimedia and broadcast public relations company MultiVu is offering companies a mobile video distribution service that enables them to get their video content to mobile phones, PDAs and other portable devices.

Developed in partnership with U-Turn Media Group, MultiVu's mobile video service incorporates U-Turn's Vizgo mobile media delivery platform to disseminate MultiVu-issued video content to all phones. The placement of video on mobile phones will be included as part of MultiVu's standard distribution via PR Newswire.

"We distribute video to every venue, essentially making it easier for companies to reach people who missed their news on the Web," said Bev Yehuda, vice president of products at MultiVu. "This is part of moving towards next-generation technology.

"Web 2.0 really changed the communications game and the recent move towards multimedia press releases is a growing area of communications that we want to be a part of," she said.

PR Newswire offers electronic distribution, targeting, measurement and broadcast services on behalf of corporate, government, association, labor and nonprofit organizations.

MultiVu is a PR Newswire company that provides broadcast and multimedia production and global distribution services to organizations that target the media, financial community and general public with their visual and audio messages.

This move is part of MultiVu's strategy to provide cross-platform communication channels to deliver customers' video and audio messages to audiences anywhere and at anytime.

Individuals wishing to receive MultiVu videos on their mobile devices can register at the MultiVu Video Portal.

Once registered, users will receive a text message enabling them to download the MultiVu Portal application to their phone. With the application downloaded, users will then have the ability to select videos from a list of topics.

When relevant content is issued from a MultiVu customer, users will receive an alert on their mobile device enabling them to access and view the video.

"MultiVu is embracing a shift to 'borderless' communications by providing our customers with the means to deliver video content directly to mobile users worldwide, in real-time and free from the confines of traditional media or geographical location," Ms. Yehuda said.

"Mobile is becoming the primary Internet access point for many individuals and we are tapping into this growing market," she said. "We are openning up opportunities for our customers, who can use this as a way to get their brand or product launch out in front of people who are interested in catching up on news they have missed."
