JuiceCaster, Photobucket partner on mobile video, picture sharing

JuiceCaster and Photobucket will let the mobile social media application's users post videos and picture messages to their Photobucket account using their handsets.

In the coming weeks, Photobucket will be a featured channel on JuiceCaster's online flash player, which can be embedded on a number of Web sites, including Blogger, WordPress, LiveJournal and any Web site that allows a user to embed a flash player. Through the JuiceCaster flash player, users will always be able to view their recent Photobucket media.

"The partnership makes perfect sense given Photobucket's vast presence in online media sharing, and JuiceCaster's ability to enable instant sharing of mobile video and pictures to online portals," said Vivian Lee, vice president of marketing for JuiceCaster, Los Angeles. "JuiceCaster is a leader in the mobile social media space, and Photobucket is a leader in online media sharing, so we're able to best leverage our core competencies and deliver the right experience to users."

JuiceCaster is getting the word out about the Photobucket partnership via a marketing campaign that includes consumer email newsletters and targeted text messages.

Photobucket is promoting JuiceCaster on their main blog and urging their consumers to sign up for JuiceCaster.

The application also lets consumers search and view videos and pictures on their mobile phone.

JuiceCaster consumers can create custom groups, such as Photobucket friends or family, to send group video and picture messages to other mobile phones, email addresses and online social networks.

"At this time, JuiceCaster is not serving ads directly within the JuiceCaster community, but in the coming months, we will be deploying advertising in areas that don't directly impact our on-deck community," Ms. Lee said. "Vogue TV has successfully syndicated video content within JuiceCaster, and we've also worked with niche organizations like Kicknote.com to deliver content with real entertainment value.

"We'll continue to work with brands based on delivering content in a contextual, engaging way," she said. "The current focus of the JuiceCaster community is on UGC content and engagement through the interaction and exchange of real-time mobile video and picture messaging."

In addition to linking content, Photobucket users share their personal digital media by email, instant messaging and mobile devices.

"There are a couple of other mobile offerings for static uploads to Photobucket," Ms. Lee said. "However, JuiceCaster will be the first mobile social network to offer the type of dynamic integration that enables ease of sharing to and viewing Photobucket content from your mobile phone."
