Dive Brief:
- CNN Worldwide's chief spokesperson and public relations supervisor, Allison Gollust, was named as the network's new chief marketing officer.
- Gollust, who has also served as a longtime adviser to network President Jeff Zucker, will continue to perform her other duties while taking on the management of strategic marketing, creative services and event marketing.
- She will report directly to Zucker and Turner Broacasting System, Inc., Senior Vice President of Communications Jeff Matteson.
Dive Insight:
Though Gollust has only been with CNN since March, she brings a wealth of marketing experience with her to the new role. She is the former communications director for New York Governor Andrew Cuomo, executive vice president of corporate communications for NBC Universal, and a former news anchor, reporter and producer. It will be interesting to see how that experience shapes CNN Worldwide's marketing going forward.
