- Despite its reputation for piracy, BitTorrent is hoping to lure in advertisers and publishers with a new suite of products.
- The file sharing site could be attractive to prospects because of its 170 million monthly visitors—more than Pinterest or Spotify.
- Products include Bundle, sharing in batches; Sync, sharing across multiple devices; and Bleep, a new chat service.
While BitTorrent does have a tainted reputation for piracy issues in the past, it likely won't be completely off limits to the right kind of publishers and advertisers. BitTorrent's heavy traffic could be enough to sway advertisers who aren't as concerned with the site's reputation. Offbeat sites like PornHub have been able to pull in some pretty mainstream brands, so it's certainly possible for BitTorrent as well.
