Dive Brief:
- Procter & Gamble President of Family Care Kirk Perry has been hired by Google to serve as the company's new president of brand solutions.
- The newly created role will report to Google Chief Business Officer Nikesh Arora.
- The hiring is directly related to Google's plans to drive more ad sales online, away from TV.
Dive Insight:
Perry is the second P&G exec hired by Google in recent years, preceded by YouTube's hiring of Lucas Watson two years ago. His final day at Procter & Gamble is Dec. 2. His unit there included Puffs, Charmin and Bounty, and is considered one of its most successful. This experience, as Arora noted, will be extremely valuable to Google moving forward.
