TRENTON, N.J. – New Jersey business owners can now readily access state assistance and incentive program information thanks to a new digital addition to the New Jersey Business Action Center’s (NJBAC) website – a guide that serves as a companion to the work of the Center’s business advocates.
The latest update to the NJBAC website, the Business Assistance and Incentive Programs page, found at https://www.state.nj.us/state/ba-ip-guide/index.shtml, allows business owners to explore a wide range of topics, including:
Small and mid-sized business assistance programs Emerging technology and life science assistance programs Job creation and retention incentive programs Urban Enterprise Zone programs Main Street New Jersey Renewable energy Real estate
The guide is a companion to the assistance that businesses can also obtain from the NJBAC’s advocates, a team of experts who understand the business climate and the regulations in place.
NJBAC, a division of the Department of State, is a business-first resource that can help businesses get answers from government agencies, direct them to appropriate officials or contacts, and more.
“Part of the Center’s mission is to make information about starting and growing a business in the Garden State readily accessible to main street businesses, the largest corporations and every business in between,” said NJBAC Executive Director Melanie Willoughby.
While the NJBAC’s office is based in Trenton, its team members travel the Garden State each week helping businesses with the daily issues they face at no cost to them and in a confidential setting. Its Business Helpline, 1-800-JERSEY-7, is staffed each weekday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. with representatives ready to answer questions.
“We pride ourselves on responding to clients within 24 hours, if the questions they have require additional research,” Willoughby added.
As the NJBAC executive director often reminds New Jersey business owners: “We are from the government and we’re here to help.”
