Forbes.com brings Intelligent Investing to iPhone users
Forbes.com announced a new Intelligent Investing application is available on the Apple App Store.
The application offers iPhone and iPod touch users access to content from the Intelligent Investing section on Forbes.com. Intelligent Investing is sponsored by Zurich Financial Services Group, an insurance-based financial services provider.
"We know that investors and business decision makers are on the go and we want to make sure these videos and features are available to them wherever they go," said Jeff Bauer, product and creative director at Forbes.com, New York. "The iPhone is a good platform for consumption of content on the go and it has a great screen for video.
"We thought it would be a good area of our site to be available on the iPhone," he said.
Intelligent Investing provides analysis and insight about the current economic and business climate, and offers a unique video program, "Intelligent Investing with Steve Forbes," a series of one-on-one interviews with financial luminaries, filmed at the Forbes Townhouse in New York City.
The show is complemented daily by related conversations, editorial features and panels with prominent industry leaders, Forbes journalists and experts on the markets and the economy.
Omniture, a leader in online business optimization, will provide mobile analytics for the application.
The application was developed by Xignite, a cloud services provider of on-demand market data and components for financial applications.
This isn't Forbes' first mobile offering.
Forbes.com launched the Forbes.com Mobile Reader for BlackBerry in April.
The Forbes.com Mobile Reader is powered by Handmark. The application automatically delivers the latest Forbes.com headlines and updates to BlackBerry smartphones in real time.
In December, the company redesigned its story pages, the Forbes.com Video Network, stock quotes and executive tear sheets.
The Video Network content is viewable on several Windows Media mobile devices, including the Palm Treo and the Samsung Blackjack via the Kinoma player, and can be embedded on other sites and blogs.
"IPhone users are text savvy and have a certain level of disposable income and we know Forbes.com users have iPhones. "We've done our research on the people visiting our Web site and we have a lot of iPhone users."
