Limp charged with growing Limbo as new COO
Limbo named David Limp as the mobile entertainment company's first chief operating officer to grow the business.
Mr. Limp is charged with leading the daily operations at Limbo including the sales, operations and finance functions.
"My vision is to build the world's largest mobile community," Mr. Limp said.
"I am passionate about the size of the mobile market and don't believe that any company has yet found the perfect formula to attract and facilitate a great mobile community," he said. "In my view, Limbo has the team and the components to execute this vision."
Mr. Limp was a venture capital partner with Azure Capital Partners, which invested in Limbo's launch in 2005.
"I've found that a significant advantage for any startup is not repeating mistakes," Mr. Limp said. "Hopefully my experience will allow us to avoid any unnecessary pitfalls and concentrate on continuing the exciting growth the business is seeing today.
"We are the leading mobile entertainment company with over 1 million members in the United States," he said. "We are experiencing accelerating member growth and the community of members is thrilled with the new community tools that we have just launched. These are highlighted by the new My Limbo and Mingle features."
Prior to his stint at Azure Capital, Mr. Limp was senior vice president of business development at PalmSource where he was responsible for corporate development and network operator sales.
Before PalmSource, Mr. Limp was chief strategy officer of Liberate Technologies.
He also founded a site named Education.com.
Mr. Limp will use his experience working with startups to grow Limbo's business.
"I think Limbo has all the raw materials to fulfill my vision of creating the world's largest mobile community," he said. "I am here to help make that happen."
