British social network Bebo partners with Intercasting

British social media network Bebo has partnered with Intercasting Corp. to let Bebo's 40 million members produce and share content on their mobile phones.

Bebo.com will be available through Intercasting's Anthem mobile application, as well as through text and picture messaging. Anthem will give users deeper integration to carrier phone cameras and phone directories and the Bebo Web site.

"We are going to enable text and picture mail messaging on handset applications for them," said Sean Kane, general manager of Intercasting, San Diego. "The application provides a richer experience for direct access to the camera and phone number address book."

Members of the Bebo community can create, consume, discover and share professional and user-generated content.

Intercasting is a mobile social networking company that partners with wireless carriers, social networking companies and major brands to drive the growth of personalized mobile media.

Through the partnership, users will be able to take pictures and access phone numbers from the application. Users can also view photos, send and receive messages, post comments and search profiles.

Current U.S. Intercasting clients include Xenga, LiveJournal, Vox, MTV and BlackPlanet.

"We are growing quickly inside markets in Europe, Asia and other parts of the world," Mr. Kane said. "And each carrier that we serve delivers more value to our social networking clients. The result is a virtuous circle."
