- ExactTarget has released its "2014 State of Marketing Report"—the results of a survey of 2,500 marketers on a variety of marketing themes like metrics, email, social media, and mobile marketing.
- According to the report, 98% of marketers plan to increase budgets in 2014 with a focus on increasing conversion rates, raising brand awareness, and leveraging more behavior-based data.
- Of those that said they would increase spending 61% said they would increase spending on data and analytics, 60% marketing automation, 58% email marketing, 57% social media and 57% content management.
For 98% of a group of marketers to agree on anything is pretty impressive. It looks like 2014 will be a progressive year for marketers working—and spending—to improve their campaigns. The fact that data and analytics is receiving the most attention means marketers truly understand the importance of evaluating their campaigns.
