- A new ad campaign will ask consumers to contact their representatives about taking up legislation to stop patent trolls—people who use bad patents to bully companies into going to court or paying a settlement—when Congress is back in session on Sept. 9.
- The ads will run in print and radio in the states and districts of lawmakers that sit on the committee of jurisdiction on the issue; states include Virginia, Vermont, Illinois, Iowa, Nevado, Ohio and Texas.
- The four associations behind the ads are The Internet Association, the National Restaurant Association, the National Retail Federation and the Food Marketing Institute.
