E-commerce giant Amazon has partnered with FreeWheel to start serving video ads on its site.
As the ads roll out, users of the site will see more game trailers, movie trailers, and product videos showing up in their searches.
Many videos will contain a "Shop Now" call-to-action that will lead viewers to an Amazon page for the featured product.
The ads will greatly change the user experience on Amazon, but the online retailer believes its users love video. For advertisers, the video ads open a whole new world of opportunity. Amazon has a great deal of data on its users that could provide highly targeted video ad spots.
