- Mondo's "The Future of Digital Marketing" survey revealed Tuesday that 80% of companies plan to increase digital marketing budgets in the next 12 to 18 months.
- The survey consisted of 262 digital marketing executives at B2B and B2C companies.
- Hiring top marketing talent will drive a lot of the growth in coming months, but not without challenges—65% of respondents cited finding skilled talent as a major barrier to having the right staff.
What's interesting about Mondo's survey—over others that also show spending growth in digital marketing—is that respondents want to hire talents with the larger budgets, rather than just invest in marketing tech. The study also revealed the importance of workplace culture, as the typical tenure of a digital marketing professional at an organization is only 12-18 months. This makes the workforce landscape within digital marketing a candidates market.
"There is such high demand and it's such a new space—people are hopping around to find the best jobs," Laura McGarrity, VP of digital marketing strategy at Mondo, a technology and digital marketing resource provider, told AdAge.
