- Each commercial from both NBC's broadcast and streaming Super Bowl events will be pushed to the Tumblr page immediately after they air to give the ads new life.
One of the beauties of the digital and social media world is that TV commercials with a Super Bowl price tag can now get more mileage with a new online audience. Tumblr is a perfect platform for NBC to post the spots because of its visually rich reputation.
Tumblr is no longer thought to be the step-child of social networks, as Rick Cordella, senior vp and general manager of digital media for NBC Sports, told Marketing Land: “Tumblr is a visually-rich, social-friendly platform that is perfect to showcase the Super Bowl TV ads...[it will be] the first step in creating a more robust NBC Sports destination on Tumblr.”
