Dive Brief:
- Publicis Groupe announced three new leadership appointments on Thursday for the U.S. branch of Publicis Media.
- The new additions include Kathy Ring named as CEO of Starcom USA, Sean Reardon as CEO of Zenith USA, and Jason Whiting as CEO of MRY, according to Adweek.
- The announcements come within a month of Publicis consolidating Publicis Media into four global brands, and not long after restructuring its global network of agencies into four subgroups: Publicis Media, Publicis Communications, Publicis Sapient and Publicis Healthcare.
Dive Insight:
Publicis Media CEO Tim Jones said in a statement, "This strong roster of leaders will drive new levels of scale, business transformation and client value. I look forward to working closely with these leaders as we deliver upon the promise of our organization—a modern approach to gain efficiency and introduce structures for greater collaboration and effectiveness."
According to Adweek, the new leadership appointments come at a time when there is still some uncertainty about what the restructuring means across Publicis Groupe, and whether layoffs might be coming due to all the changes at the highest level.
The Publicis Media consolidation involved Starcom and Zenith remaining separate agencies; and Mediavest and Spark rolled into a single agency, as well as Optimedia and Blue 449. VivaKi remained part of Publicis Media, but in a role as a resource for all the agencies within the network.
