- Digital media company Vox has secured $46.5 million in its latest round of funding.
- Vox plans to utilize the funding to produce more content with a heavy emphasis on video.
- In addition to more content, Vox wants to utilize the distribution structure it has in place to expand content and ads outside its own properties.
This has been a great year for digital media companies. News outlets Vice received $500 million of funding, and BuzzFeed scored $50 million, proving that while print media might be on the decline, the news business is very much thriving. Vox also decided to build up its own in-house creative agency for branded content, Vox Creative, instead of looking to outside resources. The evolution of the news business is definitely going to be something to watch for 2015.
