- According to a report from mobile-ad platform Opera Mediaworks, more ad requests were sent from mobile devices running Android than those running iOS in Q1 of 2014.
- Mobile ad requests from Android devices increased from 31.3% to 42.8%, while iOS decreased from 44.5% to 38.2%.
- Although Android brought in more ad requests, iOS is still ahead in terms of revenue and brought in 52% of revenue compared to Android's 33.5%.
With more advanced devices like the Samsung Galaxy series of phones, the Android market is gaining ground on iOS devices. The bottom line still lies with Apple, however, so it will continue to be a close race even if Android is bringing in more mobile ad requests.
