Dive Brief:
- Burger King tweeted a bit of snark at McDonalds Thursday—the day after it was announced CEO Don Thomson was stepping down.
- Thomson is leaving McDonald's after a lack luster and tough year for the fast food chain.
- In what was probably meant to be in fun, Burger King tweeted "Dear Don, you can have it flame-grilled" with a photo of a Whopper.

Dive Insight:
The tweet probably didn't have cruel intentions, but Burger King may have been a bit too personal this time. The idea did garner Burger King some attention, but it's probably not all attention the fast food chain necessarily wants. The tweet is also a bit of a 'pot, meet kettle' move, since Burger King has had its fair share of PR blunders recently as well. It will be interesting to see if McDonalds fires back.
