Dive Brief:
- Draftfcb, a result of the 2006 merger of Interpublic's Draft and FCB, is announcing its rebranding as FCB.
- The move follows the September hiring of Carter Murray as global CEO.
- According to Murray, the name change reflects moving forward as one brand identity and celebrating the agency's local nature.
Dive Insight:
Draftfcb had been losing clients under its name because of a perception that it had lost touch with FCB's creative side. Murray's decision to go back to the FCB name and focus on creative again will hopefully prove to the brands it wants to attract that it's committed to creative work. The agency had formed a reputation for housing a direct marketing business under an agency image.
