- Google advertising veteran Lorraine Twohill has been promoted to senior vice president of marketing.
- Twohill is only the second woman to join the "L Team" of senior VPs — denoting an elite group of trusted advisers to co-founder Larry Page — after YouTube head Susan Wojcicki.
- In her 11 years at Google, Twohill has managed both Google's first flagship smartphone and its TV ad, among other accomplishments.
It's great to see an industry veteran receive a promotion and recognition for hard work in marketing and advertising. Amid recent reports that Google's workforce is mostly white and male, it's refreshing to see the company bring another woman into the VP circle.
