Dive Brief:
- LinkedIn introduced a new notifications center for company pages via its company blog this weekend.
- Social media managers will now have one place that shows company page likes, comments, shares, and mentions—all of which will act separately from managers' personal pages.
- Managers will also be able to comment and like as the company page.
Dive Insight:
A notification center LinkedIn has built is exactly the kind of functionality that will help more companies be comfortable with utilizing the platform. A feature of being able to comment as a company page is so simple, but will considerably increase engagement for brands. This is especially important since marketers are already able to do the same on other sites like Facebook and Twitter. Now that the site is a bit easier to use, the functionality could encourage more brands to advertise.
In a statement on LinkedIn's marketing blog, the site said the new features "aim to reinforce our goal of giving our members more meaningful content while empowering our customers to know what information is engaging with their desired audiences."
