- A report from social data and sharing tool ShareThis shows that social sharing on mobile devices grew over 30% in the second quarter of 2014.
- Data was pulled from ShareThis' network of two million U.S. publishers and showed that sharing on smartphones grew by 27.8%, while tablet shares experienced 3.5% growth.
- The study says the majority of social posts now occur on mobile for many of the bigger sites — 75% for Pinterest, 71% for Twitter, and 64% for Facebook.
The study just adds data to the idea that 2014 may be the tipping point for mobile, as the majority of social shares happen on mobile devices. The more data we see, the more incentive publishers and marketers have to make content mobile friendly so it can be shared.
